Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after that period of 2023.
Success also indicates he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
The opponent rescued 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
